At Sicula, we believe the greatest way to honor our past is to invest in our future. We were blessed to grow up in a time when we could sit at the table with ourgrandparents and great-grandparents—men and women who carried Sicily and Italy in their hearts and passed that legacy down to us.
But that connection is fragile. If the next generation doesn’t walk the streets of Carlentini, share a meal with extended family, or feel the rhythm of Sicilian life for themselves, we risk losing more than just a cultural bond—we risk losing a part of who we are.
The same holds true for the youth of Carlentini. For them to understand the power and pride of their heritage, they need to experience the American chapter of our shared story—right here in Omaha.

"Our mission is to connect Italian descendants in Omaha, Nebraska, with their ancestral town of Carlentini, Sicily. Through cultural exchanges and educational initiatives, we aim to celebrate heritage, strengthen community bonds, and foster mutual understanding between our two communities."

To preserve and promote the cultural heritage of Sicilian-Americans—especially those from Carlentini—by creatingmeaningful connections between generations and across borders through immersive cultural exchange, storytelling,and genealogical reconnection.

Italian-American and Sicilian youth who are connected by a shared history and inspired to preserve their heritage for generations to come.
